Spring Break.

For whatever reason, BYU does not get a spring break.  I'm rather indifferent to this fact.  I didn't feel like I really needed one last year and plus we end up getting out of school earlier than everyone I know.  However, I wouldn't complain about getting more days off school.  Because we don't have an official spring break, I like to consider our California trip as my spring break.  And surprisingly, this week has been not busy at all so I've been counting it as an extension to my fake spring break.  It's really been quite enjoyable.  :)  For example, it is currently 12:19 p.m. and normally at this time I would be frantically trying to finish a million assignments before my next class at 1.  Instead, I am in a study room all by myself (yes, I'm a loser) trying to keep myself entertained.  Thus, I am blogging.

1.  Apples.  They are delicious.  Fuji are the best.  (I think those are the right ones...I have to call my mom every time I'm at the market to make sure.)  And they stay good for a very long time.  I didn't buy apples at all last semester, but I rediscovered their deliciousness this semester.  And the whole "an apple a day keeps the doctor away" saying makes me feel especially healthy as I eat them.  :)

2.  Sports highlight reels.  I LOVE them.  (Really good ones can even bring tears to my eyes...I know...lame.)  In fact one of my goals in life is to learn how to make them.  In fact I'm pretty sure I could at least make a cruddy one right now with my Intro to Broadcasting skills.  However, I am lacking footage of sports highlights.  Someday.

3.  Three-point fouls.  I love it when the opposing team fouls players while they are shooting a three.  It's even better when they make the shot.  Seriously?  Number one rule of basketball: Don't foul a guy while he's shooting a three.  Pointless.  Thus, any player who can get fouled shooting a three usually is able to draw the foul himself.  Genius.  Kobe does it.  Jimmer did it last night.  It's great.  :)

4.  Quoting poetry.  Last semester I had to write a paper for my Spanish Literature class.  I'm pretty sure it's mentioned in a previous post.  I chose to write it on a poem about an artichoke.  (I love artichokes.)  I ended up writing the majority (if not all) of it the morning it was due.  It was supposed to be six pages and I'm pretty sure the only reason I ever reached six pages was because I quoted a lot of poetry.  In MLA format, if you quote more than four (I think) lines of poetry, you get to set it apart as a block quote.  It's a great space waster.

5.  The real King James.  A favorite fan reference to Jimmer.  Kinda ironic that he's a POY candidate during the same year as the 400th anniversary of the King James Bible.

Well.  I must depart.  Fare thee well.  :)

Quoting poetry. SO TRUE. You WOULD think of that and blog about it. Most people wouldn't. And that's why I don't love most people as much as I love you.
